On New Year’s Eve, Deer Tick wrapped up its six-night Brooklyn residency by performing a fan-chosen setlist culled from the Rhode Island outfit’s entire five-album discography. For the grand finale, however, the band enlisted none other than Stevie Nicks to join them on-stage in performing Fleetwood Mac’s seminal 1976 single “Rhiannon”. Watch fan-shot video below. (If you’re wondering the connection, Nicks officiated frontman John McCauley’s wedding to singer Vanessa Carlton.)
Coming in celebration of Deer Tick’s 10th anniversary, the residency also featured full performances of Lou Reed’s Transformer, Devo‘s Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!, and Elvis Costello’s My Aim Is True. In addition to Nicks, guest performers included Sharon Van Etten, Titus Andronicus’ Patrick Stickles, The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson, Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith, Robert Ellis, and The Felice Brothers’ James Felice, among others.
