The new Steve Jobs biopic written by Aaron Sorkin has finally gone into production. This comes after both director David Fincher and actor Christian Bale dropped out of the project, leading Sony to tap Danny Boyle and Michael Fassbender as their respective replacements. Below, via The Daily Mail, is our first look at Fassbender as Jobs.
The film, which also stars Seth Rogen as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, recently began filming in Northern California. A release date has been set for October 9th, 2015, with its premiere likely coinciding with the Toronto International Film Festival.
Sorkin’s script revolved entirely around three significant events in Apple’s history: the launch of the Mac computer, the acquisition of software company NeXT, which enabled Jobs to return to Apple in 1996, and the introduction of the iPod.
Sorkin and Boyle’s film will be the second Steve Jobs biopic since the death of the Apple co-founder in 2011. Ashton Kutcher previously starred in Jobs, which was released in 2013.
