Rock in Rio has confirmed the initial headliners for its 2015 festival. Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down, and Faith No More will perform during the seven-day event, which is billed as the world’s biggest music festival. Past editions of the festival have drawn over one million festival-goers.
Also confirmed to play the festival include Norwegian new wave outfit a-ha, who are reuniting specifically for the festival, as well as Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry’s new supergroup, The Hollywood Vampires. The rest of the initial lineup includes Katy Perry, Slipknot, and John Legend.
Rock in Rio takes place September 18th – 20th and 24th – 27th in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. Tickets will go on sale soon through the festival’s website.
In May, Rock in Rio will hold its first North American offshoot festival in Las Vegas. That festival’s lineup includes Metallica, Taylor Swift, Deftones, No Doubt, John Legend, Sam Smith, Empire of the Sun, and more.
