Ghostface Killah and Toronto production outfit BadBadNotGood first linked up last year for a 10-inch single from Lex Records. More recently, they reconvened to record an entire full-length LP, entitled Sour Soul. Ahead of the album’s February 24th release date, it’s streaming in full below.
The 12-track effort was recorded in mid-2014 alongside producer Frank Dukes (50 Cent, Lloyd Banks). According to a press release, the album is influenced by music of the 1960s and 1970s, with BadBadNotGood drawing “inspiration from the recording techniques and production of that era while eschewing sampling in favor of live instrumentation. With the album, BadBadNotGood have created a cinematic musical staging for Ghostface Killah’s vivid storytelling.”

Sour Soul features a number of guest stars, including Danny Brown (“Six Degrees”), MF Doom (“Ray Gun”), and Detroit MC Elzhi (“Gunshowers”), among others.
