Sony Pictures has released the trailer for Aloha, writer/director Cameron Crowe’s first film since 2011’s We Bought A Zoo. Due May 26th, the film stars Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, Danny McBride, John Krasinski, and Alec Baldwin.
The romantic comedy centers on a successful military contractor (Cooper as Brian Gilcrest) as he returns to Honolulu, Hawaii, the city where he had his greatest career triumphs. There, he re-connects with an old flame (McAdams as Tracy, whose new husband is Krasinski’s Woody) while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog (Stone as Ng) assigned to him. Murray plays a billionaire who’s launching a new satellite system. The trailer plays up the more serious feelings of the film, though there’s clearly a tonal similarity with Crowe’s beloved Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous.
