Wolf Alice announces debut album, My Love Is Cool, shares “Giant Peach” — listen

    London rockers Wolf Alice made waves in their home country last year on the crest of their single “Moaning Lisa Smile”. The track helped secure the four-piece a spot at Glastonbury, which led to them nabbing Best Breakthrough Artist at the UK Festival Awards. Now, the band is set to dig its claws into the rest of the world with the release of their debut full-length, My Love Is Cool, due June 23rd through Dirty Hit/RCA Records.

    As a first listen to the record, Zane Lowe debuted lead single “Giant Peach” as his “Hottest Record in the World” earlier this week. Chugging along on murky guitars, the track highlights the band’s gritty rock aesthetic alongside singer Ellie Rowsell’s vocal range. She hits the high yelps, the hushed poetics, and even the guttural growls. A “love affair” with the city of London, Rowsell says, “It’s a song to dance to, but also a song to lose your shit to.” Take a listen:

    Wolf Alice has a handful of US dates left to play, including at least one South by Southwest, before heading back home for a massive UK tour. See their full itinerary below.
