Charlotte Gainsbourg’s film credits include 21 Grams, The Science of Sleep, and, most recently, Lars von Trier’s 2013 drama Nymphomaniac. Now, the European actress/singer will be returning to the big screen once again, as she’s just been cast for the highly-anticipated Independence Day sequel.
Gainsbourg joins Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher (who will play leading man Captain Hiller’s son), and Jeff Goldblum, who will reprise his role as environmentalist David Levinson. Gainsbourg’s character has not yet been revealed.
The Roland Emmerich-directed alien flick, titled ID Forever, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 24th, 2016.
The film is just one of many movies in the works for Gainsbourg; she’s also set to appear in the Wim Wenders drama Every Thing Will Be Fine (starring James Franco and Rachel McAdams) and Joseph Cedar’s thriller Oppenheimer Strategies (starring Richard Gere and Dan Stevens).
