Tim Burton has been tapped to direct Disney’s new live-action version of Dumbo. An update on the 1941 classic film about a baby circus elephant with huge ears, it’s the latest in Disney’s long list of recent live-action productions, which includes revamped editions of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Burton’s own Alice in Wonderland.

Burton’s version of Dumbo will reportedly be a mix of live-action and CG, and feature a script penned by Ehren Kruger, known for his work on the Transformers franchise. For the Big Eyes director, this movie is just of one many irons in the fire — he is also currently working on the much anticipated Beetlejuice 2, the Alice in Wonderland sequel, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
