Chromatics premiere strong new single “In Films” — listen

The third slice off Dear Tommy is the most rewarding one yet

Chromatics should be dropping their new album, Dear Tommy, any day now. It didn’t pop up in February, and March went by without a peep, so it has to be April, right? While they wait, the band’s resident producer, Johnny Jewel, has been keeping fans busy with singles like “Just Like You” and “I Can Never Be Myself When You’re Around”. Now, he’s delivered the best one yet: “In Films”.

Without a doubt the poppiest of the batch, “In Films” thrusts forward with heartbeat percussion and fantastical vocal coos that would leave M83’s Anthony Gonzalez in a sweat. “They took you out on Sundays/ when the skies were blue/ James Dean at the drive-in/ The girls all looked at you,” Ruth Radelet sings. Silver screen dreams aside, this one’s strictly for the post-club drive.

    Listen in below.

Dear Tommy, the follow-up to Kill For Loveis expected sometime this year from Jewel’s Italians Do It Better label.
