On June 2nd, Daughn Gibson returns with a new album titled Carnation. Due out via Sub Pop, the LP follows 2013’s Me Moan and was co-produced by Randall Dunn (Earth, Sunn O))), Tim Hecker). In addition to expanding on his country music beginnings, a press release notes that Gibson conjures a more “filmic” sound, taking cues from directors Tim Burton and John Waters. In anticipation, he’s revealed “It Wants Everything”.

If upbeat lead single “Shatter You Through” served as the songwriter’s ’80s dance party, this number sees Gibson coping with the boozy aftermath. According to a statement, the moody, electric guitar-strewn cut was “written from the point of view of a drunk and belligerent ‘jester of circumstance.'” Listen in below.
