Health new album Death Magic

On August 7th, HEALTH will release its first album in six years. DEATH MAGIC, due out via Loma Vista Recordings, follows 2009’s Get Color and spans 12 all-new tracks. For the LP, the Los Angeles experimental outfit enlisted the help of UK producer The Haxan Cloak and engineers Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, Beyoncé) and Lars Stalfors (Mars Volta, Matt & Kim). That’s the artwork above.

Along with the album news, the band’s let loose a preview in “New Coke”, a foreboding and beat-heavy number, something of a cross between Purity Ring and longtime friends/past tourmates Crystal Castles. Check it out below via its corresponding clip, which was directed by HEALTH bassist John Famiglietti and features quite frankly one too many slow-motion vomiting scenes. (You may want to hold off on breakfast.)

    DEATH MAGIC Tracklist:
    01. VICTIM
    02. STONEFIST
    03. MEN TODAY
    04. FLESH WORLD (UK)
    05. COURTSHIP II
    06. DARK ENOUGH
    07. LIFE
    08. SALIVA
    09. NEW COKE
    11. L.A. LOOKS
    11. HURT YOURSELF
    12. DRUGS EXIST
