Pipe! Polaris gets animated in a new clip created by Boston music blog Allston Pudding. Muggy, aka Mark Mulcahy, recounts a vivid story about the first time he visited the set of The Adventures of Pete and Pete. One shiny bike and a peaceful ride through the New Jersey neighborhood leads to an on-set debacle and a heroic deed by one Toby Huss, aka Artie the Strongest Man in the World. Video animator Nick Canton brings the whole story to life with an array of quirky visuals. Watch below.
In related news, Polaris has announced a second release for this weekend’s Record Store Day. In addition to their first-ever vinyl pressing of Music from the Adventures of Pete and Pete, the band will also drop their first-ever live album. Titled Live at Lincoln Hall, the double album captures their unbelievable Chicago gig last October, which included all of their songs and a number of must-hear covers. This album will be available for purchase as a CD or a digital download on Mezzotint, Bandcamp, or iTunes.
If that’s not enough, you can hear them in-person for yourself at one of their upcoming gigs. Consult their full itinerary below, shortly after the animation.
