Long before they dubbed themselves HAIM, sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim rocked out alongside parents Moti and Donna in Rockinhaim. Last night, they reunited the family affair for a special benefit show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.
Following HAIM’s own set, Rockinhaim returned to the stage as though they’d never left, with father Moti on drums and mother Donna on vocals. “Mom, you’re so spicy right now!” Este was heard describing Mama Haim’s flavorful performance. Together, the Haim clan delivered covers of “Johnny B. Goode” and “Mustang Sally” to a packed room, which included special guests Jenny Lewis, Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear, Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend, Laura Marling, and Kesha. Update: HAIM and Lewis also debuted a new song called “Girl on Girl” — see footage below.
The event — dubbed “Sam Jam w/ Haim and Friends” — was dedicated to Sammi Kane Kraft, an actress, musician, and close friend of the Haims, who was killed in a drunk driving accident back in 2012.
Check out a few videos and pictures from the concert.

Though it was a night to remember, it was not the first time Rockinhaim had been revived. The band convened in London in 2012 and just last year in San Francisco.
