We’re less than a month away from the HBO’s May 4th airing of Brett Morgen’s Kurt Cobain documentary, Montage of Heck. To help ease the wait, a new clip of the film has been posted online.

The video opens with Nirvana playing a house gig — only there are just two people in attendance, sitting off to the side against a wall. “If two people stopped by, we considered that a gig,” says a voice over. From there, it cuts to Krist Novoselic sitting on a couch, discussing when he first met Cobain. “He was working at the time as a janitor,” Novoselic says, “but he’d always have to do some kind of art — usually defacing something. He never had, like, idle hands.”

Watch the clip below. It was premiered by The New York Times, who also confirmed with Morgen that an unused interview with Dave Grohl will not be appearing as a DVD extra.

Below, watch the film’s full-length trailer.
