LEVITATION, formerly known as the Austin Psych Fest, returns this May 8th-10th to Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, Texas for its eighth annual festival.
Why the rebranding? Well, the festival is putting a renewed focus on the music that inspired the event in the first place, so they borrowed the name from a track by one of the most influential psych rock bands around, The 13th Floor Elevators. Who, it just so happens, will be reuniting at the festival for their first performance in 48 years.
It’s big news, but then again, so is the rest of the lineup. The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Spiritualized, Primal Scream, The Black Angels, Thee Oh Sees, Mac DeMarco, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Lightning Bolt, DIIV, Health, The Sword, METZ, White Fence, and many more will also be down on the Ranch.
Single-day and three-day passes are on sale via the festival’s website, but we know that’s not why you’re really here.
