Blur visit Fallon for first American TV performance in 15 years — watch

    Blur previously said that a North American tour would only be in the cards if new album The Magic Whip was a commercial success. Though the jury’s still out on those sales numbers, the band hit New York anyways, making their first US TV appearance in 15 years on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show.

    The last time Damon Albarn & co. played stateside was Coachella 2013, and, judging by the crowd’s excitement, the UK rockers’ absence had been felt. Fortunately, the band delivered with a rousing performance of “Ong Ong” featuring a trio of backing singers and two drummers. Catch the replay below.

    The Tonight Show performance comes ahead of Blur’s free concert in Brooklyn on Friday night, during which they’ll be performing The Magic Whip in full.
