Back in February, we learned that Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo had revived Le Knight Club, his longtime side-project with Crydamoure record label co-founder Eric Chedeville. Together, the duo contributed new music to a French action flick called Gates of the Sun, marking their first collaboration in over 10 years.

Today, one of their songs from the film, “The Fight”, has surfaced courtesy of Chedeville’s SoundCloud. Ominous and swaggering, it seems to have more in common with hip-hop than French robotic music or Le Knight Club’s last single, 2002’s disco-tinged “Soul Bells”. Daft Punk has worked with the likes of Kanye West and Pharrell lately; perhaps they’ll be pushing further into the rap world in the future? Listen in below.

Gates of the Sun, which co-stars former boxing pro Mike Tyson, is about “an Algerian secret agent who has to destroy an undercover paramilitary organization that plans to strike against the country and its people.” It opened in select theaters in March.

Daft Punk, meanwhile, may soon see some of their Sony-released albums pulled from TIDAL, a strange turn of events considering they own part of the streaming service.
