For one afternoon, the skies over Orange County cleared for KROQ’s annual summer kick-off, the Weenie Roast Y Fiesta, held on Saturday at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. With rotating stages, there was no delay from artist to artist, keeping the eager crowd satisfied all night. Although she was still bound to a stool following her foot injury at Coachella, Florence Welch was in high spirits, lifting the crowd up with her angelic voice during the set of Florence and the Machine. The audience danced along with acts Big Data, Walk The Moon, and Saint Motel, while teenage girls were in hysterics over pop punkers All Time Low (including guest appearances from Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil and Mark Hoppus). Anthemic rockers Muse closed out the night with giant guitar licks and Matt Bellamy’s scorching vocals.
