The Melvins are gearing up for a summer tour with Le Butcherettes, with whom they’ve also teamed for a new split EP, Chaos as Usual. Available on CD and 10-inch vinyl, the record will be sold exclusively at the upcoming shows. To entice fans (as if they need it) to come out and grab the special release, the sludge rockers have shared the first track.

“Captain Comedown” stomps with a sense of inevitable, impending doom thanks to heavy riffs and some twisted, raspy threats in the background. Bolstering the swampy dread is a thumping bass line provided by Jeff Pinkus of Butthole Surfers. Take a listen below.
