Neil Young + Promise of the Real confirm details of new album The Monsanto Years

    Neil Young has teamed with Promise of the Real, a band featuring Willie Nelson’s sons Lukas and Michah Nelson, for a “politically/ecologically-charged” collaborative album entitled The Monsanto Years. Today, Reprise Records confirmed the album’s full release details: the nine-song LP will be available beginning June 29th. The album artwork appears to spoof the famous American Gothic painting with a psychedelic water painting featuring Young and his girlfriend, Daryl Hannah.

    The album will be available in a variety of packages, including a CD/DVD package, a deluxe vinyl set, and digitally as a Hi-Fi download available through Young’s PonoMusic platform. Pre-orders are now ongoing and include instant downloads of two album tracks: “Big Box” and “A Rock Star Bucks a Coffee Shop”. The video for the latter was recently premiered via Democracy Now, and can be seen below.
