Just days after Josh Trank left/was booted off the second Star Wars standalone film, a new rumor has popped up regarding what the movie will be. The Wrap reports that the story will further reveal the origins of the galaxy’s most fearsome and beloved bounty hunters of all, Boba Fett.
Some of young Boba’s journey was revealed in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, but this will be the first time his story is told in full on the big screen. Boba is the “unaltered” clone of Jango Fett, who raised the burgeoning bounty hunter as his son. Played by Jeremy Bulloch in the original trilogy, Boba Fett is known for hunting Han Solo throughout the galaxy for Jabba the Hutt.
The film will follow Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One, set between Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope as a group of rebel fighters attempt to steal the plans for the Death Star. That’s set for a December 16, 2016 release, but with Trank’s recent departure from the Boba Fett film, there’s no knowing when that movie will be ready.
In the meantime…
