Prince recently announced a new song titled “Baltimore”, written in tribute to Freddie Gray, the man allegedly killed while in police custody, and all other citizens of the Maryland city who have found themselves persecuted as a result of social injustices. However, the musician’s involvement doesn’t end there.

Over the weekend, Prince held Dance Rally 4 Peace at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Fans were alerted of the surprise concert via social media, and were encouraged to wear the color gray in honor of Freddie Gray.

The concert saw Prince and 3rdEyeGirl perform “Chaos & Disorder”, “Dreamer”, “Crimson & Clover”, and “Guitar”. The encore included “PLECTRUMELECTRUM” and a cover of The Waterboys’ “The Whole of the Moon” featuring Prince playing bass.

There’s still no word on when Prince will release “Baltimore” — though, according to one report, it may be released as a TIDAL exclusive.
