Last month, Ratatat emerged from an extended absence and debuted a brand new song called “Cream On Chrome” at Coachella. Now long after, they unveiled another track in “Intro”. Now, the NYC duo of Evan Mast and Mike Stroud have confirmed details of their next studio album.
Magnifique will arrive on July 17th via XL Recordings. Spanning 14 tracks, the album sees the band return “to their core guitar-driven sound,” according to a press release. Recording took place at various studios in Jamaica, upstate New York, Long Island, and their home studio in Brooklyn.
The album’s artwork (above) is composed of sketches drawn by Mast and Stroud while in the studio. Below, watch a trailer soundtracked by “Intro”.
