Sun Kil Moon premieres new song “Garden of Lavender” — listen

Next month, Mark Kozelek returns with a new album as Sun Kil Moon. Universal Themes arrives on June 2nd — just 15 months after Kozelek’s year-end favorite Benji.

In anticipation, he’s shared two album tracks, “The Possum” and “Ali/Spinks 2”, and now he’s back with a third. Tune in below to hear “Garden of Lavender”, an impressive 10-minute ballad that sees Kozelek switch off between acoustic guitar and banjo, features the accompaniment of a choir, and concludes in spoken-word format.
