Last October, Long Beach rapper Vince Staples released his Def Jam debut Hell Can Wait, a seven-track EP highlighted by “Hands Up” and “Blue Suede”, one of 2014’s best songs of the year. Now, he’s returned with “Señorita”, the first song off his forthcoming full-length debut.
Though backed by Christian Rich’s chilly, ominous production, Staples shoots enough spitfire rhymes to not only convince the disbelievers, but also leave ’em a little charred and feverish. If this track is any indication of what’s to come on the new LP, the Kanye West and Odd Future affiliate will likely be a household name in no time. Check out the muy caliente track below.
Staples forthcoming album, titled Summertime ’06, is expected to hit stores on June 30th via Blacksmith/Artium/Def Jam. In the meantime, catch him on tour alongside Earl Sweatshirt and Remy Banks.
