Beck has unveiled a brand new single called “Dreams”, his first piece of new music since 2014’s Grammy Award-winning LP, Morning Phase. It’s available for download via iTunes. It’s also streaming below.

In an interview with Los Angeles radio station Alt 98.7, Beck confirmed that “Dreams” is the first track from his new album. Sonically, the song is the “opposite” of Morning Phase, Beck explained. “It started out as a heavy garage rock thing and became much more of a dance — some kind of hybrid.”

Beck said he felt compelled to release “Dreams” now so that his audience will be familiar with it once he returns to the road this week.

Of the new album, Beck said he’s been working on it for a few years. He said the material is “pretty diverse,” but “it’s a group of songs that fit together.” As of now, he doesn’t have a title for the album nor did he give any indication of its release date.
