The story of cancer survivor turned cycling legend Lance Armstrong was already fit for a Hollywood adaptation, but add in a heavy amount of cheating, lying, and intimidation, and you get one of the most illicit sports scandals to ever come to cinema.

Today we get our first look at The Program, which stars Ben Foster (Lone Survivor, 3:10 to Yuma) as the disgraced cyclist. The film also stars Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids) as David Walsh, the journalist whose digging helped to uncover the vastness of Armstrong’s cheating empire. Also along for the ride are Lee Pace, Dustin Hoffman, and Jesse Plemons.

The film was directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen) with a script from John Hodge (Trainspotting). It’s expected to hit US theaters this fall.
