Hibou is the Seattle-based solo project of 21-year-old Peter Michel, former drummer for Craft Spells. Not straying far from the wondrous dream pop of his previous gig, Michel is gearing up to release his forthcoming self-titled debut album, described as a “lush” record “fueled by twisting reverbed-out guitar melodies” and “elegant arrangements.” Due out on September 18th via new label home Barsuk Records, the 11-track effort is previewed today with “Dissolve”.

Like a nod to its title, Michel’s faded vocals and tingling guitars are cloaked in a smoky haze, seemingly just seconds away from completely ceasing to be. Listen in below.
