Back in 2013, Foxygen drummer Shaun Fleming released his solo debut, My Friend Fish, under the name Diane Coffee. Caffeinated and ready for round two, he’s gearing up to drop his sophomore record, Everybody’s A Good Dog, on September 4th through Western Vinyl.
While My Friend Fish chronicled Fleming’s move from the California suburbs to New York City, his new album focuses on his latest adventure: leaving the Big Apple for small town Bloomington, Indiana. “Spontaneous moves have always helped to inspire my writing,” he told Stereogum. “I missed the quiet. I missed having a fire. I missed the color green.”
As a preview of LP, Fleming has unveiled “Everyday”, a soulful psych pop gem that sounds just two steps away from a full-fledged Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band outtake. Listen in below.
