Earlier this month, Sydney’s Little May came stateside to woo Bonnaroo crowds with its shadowy folk. Today, the up-and-coming trio has returned to the spotlight with two exciting pieces of news: a debut album is on the way later this year and its first official single has arrived.
“Home” is equal parts intriguing and somber, as Little May uses the kind of brooding tones invoked by acts like First Aid Kit and Sharon Van Etten. At times, it’s also reminiscent of The National, which should come as no surprise considering Aaron Dessner played a part in the song’s production and recording. Check it out below via its accompanying video; it was inspired by the band’s time spent at Future Past Studios, a converted 19th-century church in upstate New York.
