Shia LaBeouf added interpretive dancer to his resume after appearing in Sia’s controversial music video for “Elastic Heart”. Now, it seems he’s got another unexpected skill up his sleeve: the art of freestyle rapping.
Over the weekend, a clip showing the actor spitting off-the-cuff rhymes in a park surfaced online. The Transformers star, surrounded by a crowd of random passersby, showcased his self-described “sick flow” for a solid two-and-a-half minutes. One line in particular aptly captured the sheer strangeness of it all: “It don’t make no sense, but I still get it like I got it though/ Rockin’ like a novice, but I’m still rockin’ like a rocket though.”
It’s unclear when the video was shot, but judging by the existence of his “ponytail,” it likely took place recently. Who knew Even Stevens would be a rapper in 2015?
Update: It’s worth noting that MC and producer Pri The Honey Dark claims LaBeouf stole her “freestyle” from a 1999 track called “Perfectionist” by the rap collective The Anomalies. That said, nowhere in the video does LaBeouf claim the lyrics to be his, nor is he making any money off of the freestyle, so yeah.
