Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor serves as chief creative director for Apple Music. To coincide with today’s launch, he has released never-before-heard instrumental versions of Nine Inch Nails’ 1999 double album The Fragile and 2005’s With Teeth.
“When the service goes live, the first thing I’ve put up is something I couldn’t have done or wouldn’t have done anywhere else,” Reznor told Rolling Stone. The “instrumental-outtakes” compilations play “like a regular album but sound very different without my voice in the way. And there’s different arrangements to certain songs and oddly that makes for a different, complementary music experience.
