All it took was a 1,000-person performance of “Learn to Fly” to compel Foo Fighters to visit Cesena

Foo Fighters

All it takes for Foo Fighters to play your hometown is a live performance of “Learn to Fly” — with over a 1,000 musicians involved. Yesterday video surfaced of a massive group of Foo Fighters diehards singing and performing guitar, drums, and bass in unison with the hope it would compel the band to play the northern Italian city of Cesena.

Well, it worked. Today, Dave Grohl announced, in Italian, that Foo Fighters are “coming.”

Here’s a rough translation of what Grohl said:

“Hello Cesena, I’m David, hi, and I’m sorry, I can’t speak Italian, just a little, just a little bit.
This video.. beautiful, really beautiful! Thank you so much. We are coming, I promise.
See you soon! Thank you very much, love you, bye.”

Presumably, the concert will take place when Foo Fighters tour Europe later this year. In the meantime, revisit the incredible “Learn to Fly” fan performance video below.
