It’s about time these two British musical titans joined forces. Robert Del Naja, aka Massive Attack’s 3D, will release two separate remixes of the Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds song “The Right Stuff”. The limited-edition 12-inch vinyl will be released on July 31st through Del Naja’s own Battle Box. In anticipation, he’s shared the first of the record’s A-Side.

3D has taken the rolling rock number and cut back the pace even more, stripping away the funky guitar blurts and leaving an atmospheric soundscape. “It was a good opportunity to take a great song, slow it right down, remove the guitars and then scratch the clarinet backwards,” 3D explained.

According to Gallagher, this was actually a collaboration 20 years in the making. “I remember being at the Brits in ’95 and D offering to do a Massive Attack remix of [Oasis’] ‘Cast No Shadow’,” he said in press for the release. “The idea was never followed through and it’s something I’ve regretted ever since. It’s nice to finally scratch the itch somewhat.”
