Last night brought the premiere of AMC’s Walking Dead prequel series, Fear the Walking Dead. To soundtrack the show’s opening montage, producers tapped a musician accustomed to creating eerie, spine-tingling soundscapes: Atticus Ross.

Over the last few years, the London native has established himself as one of film’s premiere composers, collaborating with Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor on the scores for The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Fear the Walking Dead marks Ross’ second foray into American television following his soundtracking of the US adaptation of Touching Evil.

Listen to Ross’ theme below. Update – Monday, August 31st: The full theme has surfaced online.
