The success of Straight Outta Compton might lead to a rap cinematic universe. Earlier this month it was revealed that work has already started on a companion film titled Welcome To Death Row, centering around the rise and fall of legendary Death Row Records. Now, Big Boi has alluded that an Outkast biopic is also a possibility.
Big Boi recently participated in a Reddit AMA with Phantogram to promote their upcoming collaborative Big Grams project. When one user asked if a film based around the lives of himself and cohort André 3000 could happen in the future, Big Boi replied, “Me and ‘Dre were just discussing this over Labor Day. Stay tuned.”

Given 3 Stacks’ recent stints in acting, most recently as Jimi Hendrix in last year’s Jimi: All Is By My Side, the idea doesn’t seem too far fetched. It’s mostly a wonder they were able to find time to talk about a movie between all the paint balling and golfing the two rappers have apparently been doing lately.
