Deerhunter will return on October 16th with their new album, Fading Frontier, via 4AD. The follow-up to 2013’s Monomania marks the band’s seventh album overall, but features founders Bradford Cox and Lockett Pundt performing a duet for the first time ever.

Released today, “Breaker” is a dreamy indie number with bright guitar notes and warm harmonies. Cox and Pundt’s voices feel so comfortably matched to each other, it’s a wonder they’ve never tried something like this before. Perhaps they were just waiting for the right song, and this tune about finding harmonious equilibrium with an unchangeable, maddening world seems like a perfect fit.

Check out “Breaker” via its video, layered as much as the vocals, below.

For more of Fading Frontier, check out the funky first single, “Snake Skin”. Deerhunter will support the record with a world tour featuring Cox’s other band, Atlas Sound, as the opening act. Find the dates for that highly-anticipated tour right here.
