This year markith the 40th anniversary of the comedy classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail. To celebrate, the legendary British troupe is releasing a special edition of the film packaged in a real, working catapult.
Now, calm down, you’re not going to actually be launching farm critters over the parapets. The Blu-ray edition of the release comes housed in a model castle, complete with attachable catapult arm and an armory of toy animals as ammo. Sure, they could’ve gone with a small shrubbery or some coconuts, but surely firing off livestock is more fun.
In addition, the new package will feature letters from co-directors Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam, a John Oliver-hosted Q&A session with the Pythons from the 2015 Tribeca Film FEstival, outtakes and extended scenes, lost animations introduced by Gilliam, and an educational film dubbed “How to Use Your Coconuts”. Gilliam, Jones, John Cleese, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin will also provide commentary tracks.
Below, watch Cleese, Palin, Jones, and Gilliam play with the model catapult, and pre-order your own via Amazon.
