Following last week’s plush new Chromatics song “Shadow”, Adult Swim’s 2015 Singles program continues to roll today with yet another big track — one that hip-hop fans have undoubtedly been hotly anticipating.
“Lively Hood” marks the gritty comeback of DOOMSTARKS, the elusive superduo project of DOOM and Ghostface Killah. While it appears the joint cut is a one-off release, in a Reddit AMA late last year, Ghostface had suggested a forthcoming DOOMSTARKS album would finally see the light of day in 2015. This past July, Jason DeMarco, who oversees all things Adult Swim music, seemed to confirm this, too; speaking about the inclusion of “Lively Hood” in the 2015 Singles series, he said:
“We reached out to DOOM to see if he was interested in giving us a track, and were told that the DOOMSTARKS project was close to completion and there was a song we could have… we jumped on it! I mean, it’s Ghost and DOOM rapping together. It’s pretty much my rap nerd dreams coming true.”

In related news, DOOMSTARKS will perform together at Miami’s III Points Music Festival from October 9th – 11th.
Other 2015 Adult Swim Singles include tracks from Slayer, Shabazz Palaces, Danny Brown and Clams Casino, Peaches, Swervedriver, Yung Lean, and Owen Pallett. New material from Flying Lotus, and Run the Jewels are expected in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for these releases and more. You can also download the tracks for free via Adult Swim.
