Nowness has released a new short documentary film centered around St. Vincent’s Annie Clark returning home to Marfa, Texas. Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz, who’s been following St. Vincent on tour for years, the mini-doc sees Clark discussing her creative drive, and the satisfaction and fear she finds in performing. Elsewhere, she sings a jerky rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” at a small local baseball game and recreates a scene from St. Vincent standout “Rattlesnake” by walking naked through a field. There’s also a ridiculous dance number overlaid with Clark’s narration as she says, “There’s nothing more interesting to me than human nature, because it’s infinitely strange and just infinitely fascinating.”
