    M. Night Shyamalan was to reunite with Joaquin Phoenix for a new psychological horror film, marking their third collaboration following 2002’s Signs and 2004’s The Village. Now, though, Deadline reports that Phoenix has pulled out of the project. Fortunately for Shyamalan, he’s already found a replacement.

James McAvoy, known best for his role as young Professor Charles Xavier in the latest X-Men franchise, has signed on for the as-yet-untitled film.

Plot details remain unknown, though it is believed that shooting will take place in Shyamalan’s hometown of Philadelphia. Additionally, the budget will be on the lower end, on par with the $5 million allocated for Shyamalan’s previous film The Visit.
