At last, Kendrick Lamar is ready to hit the road in support of his latest opus, To Pimp A Butterfly. The Compton MC has announced plans for the Kunta Groove Sessions Tour, to take place during the months of October and November.
The eight-city jaunt will see Kendrick accompanied by backing band The Wesley Theory, named after the opening track off To Pimp A Butterfly, along with Black Hippy collaborator Jay Rock. So far, dates have been announced for Atlanta, Dallas, Washington DC, and Oakland, with details for the other four shows expected soon.
Update – October 20th: Kendrick has now announced Kunta Groove Sessions shows for New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, and Cleveland
Additionally, Kendrick’s upcoming tour schedule includes a one-off performance at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra as well as a series of radio station festivals.
