On November 13th, Suicide Squeeze Records will let loose a split EP featuring two of Atlanta’s premier garage rock exports in Black Lips and The Coathangers. Last month, we heard Black Lips’ contribution, the whiskey-soaked “Freedom Fries”. Today, “Watch Your Back”, The Coathangers’ offering, has been revealed.

Tenacious and urgent, the track sees Julia Kugel, Meredith Franco, and Stephanie Luke reminding (or perhaps warning?) listeners that they “can never go back.” According to the three-piece, the song was inspired by a “challenging, fascinating and enlightening” tour through Japan, which might explain its accompanying artwork. The Coathangers’ last full-length was 2014’s Suck My Shirt. A press release notes they’re currently in the studio working on a follow-up with Nic Jodin (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Desert Noises); it’s expected out sometime next year.
