What lies behind the shadows at night? Who’s in the other room making weird noises? Where do you run to when the face of evil lurks slowly behind you? When do you finally stop screaming?
It’s October, which means it’s officially Horror Movie Season. For an entire month, it’s absolutely kosher to do nothing but eat candy corn and watch beautiful people die on screen.
Because it’s our favorite holiday, and we love talking about everything spooky and kooky, we thought we’d put together a seasonal survey to figure out what horror movie masks scare our readers the most.
Is it the chalky William Shatner reconfiguration that Michael Myers uses? Perhaps it’s the rotten flesh of Leatherface’s victims? Or maybe you just can’t stand Freddy Krueger’s burns? You’ll have to let us know.
But why, you ask? Well, on Thursday, October 29th, Consequence of Sound and Red Bull Sound Select are hosting a Halloween soiree at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall featuring performances by Ryan Hemsworth, Stefan Ponce, and Monobody.
Our idea is to run this poll for a couple of weeks and post the top five masks on October 20th, which will include original artwork by the great Steven Fiche and a discussion from our staff writers on your picks.
Here’s the fun part, though: Those five masks will be used at our event! Attendees who RSVP will have the opportunity to get their face painted with your spooky choices. Don’t you feel special?
