Though most people party years before they hit 21, there’s something special about that first legal drink. The moment when the first empty shot glass hits the bar is worth celebrating, and that’s just what Bloodshot Records plans to do for its own 21st birthday. The label is releasing a 7-inch singles collection called Six Pack to Go 7-inch, featuring 12 tracks all related to the glorious history of the drinking song.

As a first sip from the pack, Deer Tick have covered The Pogues’ “If I Should Fall from Grace with God”, the title track to the Irish folk punks’ 1988 album. As fans of the Providence rockers know, Deer Tick can handle a cover with the best of them, as they prove once again on this new take. With a sauced, speedy pace filled with stumbling drums and bouncing keys, the band builds to pint-swinging harmonies on the quintessentially Irish chorus, “Let me go boys!/ Let me go boys!” Take a listen below.
