Pusha T has been teasing a new album all month, dropping stellar new single “Untouchable” and holding a special listening party during the Adidas event celebrating his forthcoming “EQT” sneakers. There will, indeed, be a Pusha LP due out by year’s end, but it’s not the one we were expecting.

According to Noisey, an LP titled Darkest Before Dawn is due out on December 18th. Meanwhile, King Push, aka the full-length we all thought was on the way, is slated to hit shelves in the spring.

Darkest Before Dawn will reportedly feature production from Kanye West, Puff Daddy, Timbaland, Q-Tip, and Baauer, among others. The album serves as the official follow-up to Pusha’s impressive My Name Is My Name, released back in 2013.

Update – Wednesday, November 25th: According to a press release, the album features guest appearance from Kanye, ASAP Rocky, The-Dream, Kehlani, and more. Watch a teaser trailer below.

Pusha, the new President of G.O.O.D. Music, spoke to Noisey about his decision to release two separate albums:

“I’ve been recording so much—I didn’t want to break up that body of work, I feel like I had the producers doing things that they weren’t usually known for, a little out of their wheelhouse. I wanted to give the fans that body of work. That’s the music I love, and that’s the music that my fans love from me. Instead of having those moments throughout King Push, let’s just separate the game.”

Below, revisit the video for “Untouchable”.
