Yesterday, Stone Temple Pilots and Chester Bennington announced they’d be parting ways with one another, the frontman citing a need to focus on Linkin Park and his family as reasons for his departure. The alt rockers didn’t have to wait very long for a temporary replacement, however. English singer Joss Stone stepped in for STP’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night.

The group — under the fun moniker Joss Stone Temple Pilots — performed together as part of Kimmel’s ongoing “Mash Up Monday” series, taking on the STP hit “Interstate Love Song” with equal parts soul and might. Though only a one-off collaboration, their palpable chemistry should make the STP boys consider keeping Stone in their rolodex for the future.
