This evening, UK’s Sky Arts will air a documentary about Shane MacGowan’s new set of teeth. And if you’re wondering why such a documentary exists, just check out the before and after photo (via the Guardian).

Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn recounts how years of drugs and alcohol left The Pogues frontman’s mouth a shell of what it once was. After his final two teeth were removed in 2009, he was given dentures, which he promptly stopped wearing because they made him look like “a dickhead.” When his long-time girlfriend got her own teeth fixed, however, MacGowan was so impressed that he went and had a whole new set of chompers installed, including one gold tooth.

In addition to documenting the nine-hour surgery, the film features interviews with Johnny Depp and Pete Doherty, for some reason.
