Waxahatchee embraces the struggling romance of her Ivy Tripp cut “La Loose” in the track’s new video. Lyrically, the song finds Katie Crutchfield obsessing over love, knowing full well that the burning desire will likely fade before too long. The video matches this emotional self-awareness visually by placing the singer alternatively in front of lush farm land and an overgrown, abandoned ferris wheel.

The locations were chosen with the utmost intention by director Naomi Yang of Galaxie 500 and Damon & Naomi fame. “I wanted the video to be a visual equivalent to the song lyric, ‘a charming picture of hysteria in love,'” Yang said in a statement, “a spinning emotional kaleidoscope of desire and rejection, adoration and anger, hope and despair. For this reason I set the video in mirror-twin locations: an abandoned, haunted amusement park and a thriving farm out of a beautiful dream.”
