This evening, Adele made her triumphant return to the Grammys stage, her first appearance since 2012. While the British pop singer’s latest album, 25, wasn’t nominated for a trophy (due to eligibility rules), that hardly stopped her from delivering a heartbreaking performance of standout single “All I Ask”, co-written by Bruno Mars.

As she did in her commanding NBC special and unforgettable “Carpool Karaoke” bit, Adele showed off her powerful presence and majestic pipes, shifting seamlessly between octaves like the pro she is. She closed her performance with a nod to the night’s previous performer: “I love you, Kendrick, you’re amazing!” Watch the replay below.

Update: Following the performance, Adele shed light on the technical difficulties of her performance, and also her post-Grammy dinner.

25, which has sold more than seven million copies in the US alone, will be eligible for nomination next year. Expect it to dominate all the categories. After all, Adele’s previous LP, the smash-hit 21, earned her six Grammys back in 2012.
